Scholarships:

The Amy Mihaljevic Memorial Scholarship Fund

  • Established in 1994.
  • Awarded yearly to one or more college bound Bay High seniors who have been active in community affairs.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the BVEF Grants & Scholarships Committee.

Weiland Scholarship Fund

  • Established in 2014.
  • Awarded yearly to one or more college bound Bay High seniors who are pursuing advanced study in any area of public health and safety.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the Weiland Scholarship Committee.

Ann-Marie Young Scholarship Fund

  • Established in 2016.
  • For the support of instruction in Bay Middle School classroom assignment last held by Ann- Marie during her service or other BMS classrooms for students with special needs.  It can also be used for scholarships for current Bay Village teachers pursuing a Master’s degree in the field of special education.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the BVEF Grants & Scholarships Committee.

Bay Travel Award

  • Established in 2013.
  • Awarded yearly to a Bay High junior to travel abroad to a developing country to expand one’s awareness of needs outside the United States. Part of the trip will include community service hours.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the Bay Travel Award Committee.

Tim Todd Scholarship Fund

  • Established in 2007.
  • Awarded every other year to a Bay High School wrestler.
  • Selections made by the Bay High School Wrestling Coach or a designee, a member of the Todd Family, and a Trustee of the Bay Education Foundation.

 

Awards:

Maynard Bauer Leadership Fund

  • Established in 2010.
  • Awarded to applicants seeking financial support for programs/materials related to leadership skills/opportunities for Bay Village Students.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the BVEF Trustees.

The Ryan Haneline Memorial Award

  • Established in 2007.
  • Awarded to Bay Village student(s) or teacher(s) in grades 1-8 who has shown interest in one of the arts (visual, musical, performing, or literacy), proving students or teachers an opportunity to attend an enrichment arts program/ class of their own choosing.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the BVEF Grants & Scholarship Committee.

 

Grants:

 The Thompson Economic Education Award

  • Established in 2006.
  • Awarded to an applicant of the Bay Village School System that desires financial support for a planned educational activity, related equipment and/or materials related to economics.
  • Selections made from applications reviewed by the BVEF Trustees.

The Nancy Clouser Waldron Award for Excellence in English

  • Funded by the Class of 1960.
  • This award promotes classroom and individual education activities, which pursue excellence in the academic area of English.
  • Designation given to a grant that meets criteria at the grant selection meeting in October.

The Golden Fund

  • Established by the Class of 1949.
  • Encourages each 50 year Reunion class to contribute.
  • Proceeds fund a project that helps special needs students succeed in school.
  • Designation given to a grant that meets the criteria at the grant selection meeting in October.
